Doubles Ladder

The doubles ladder is still live on Playwaze but has gone a bit quiet recently - do grab your partners and challenge those ahead of you!

Recyclaball

We have installed a Recyclaball container next to the gate of the block of four for old balls, so please dispose of them through the hole at the front.

Mix 'N Match on Sunday

On Sunday 10th April there will be a relaxed Mix 'nMatch tournament hosted by Marc Terry and a social gathering afterwards. Head down to the club for 2pm if you want to play, and we'll assign you to partners for 4 rounds of tennis, with a different partner each time. We'll keep track of your score, and the person with the most points will win everyone's awe. If you just want to socialise come down anyway, or turn up from 4pm for the social part - please bring an item of food or drink for this.

Court Usage Rules

At All Times

If people are waiting to play because no courts are available you must vacate your court at the end of the set or, if just hitting, after 30 mins. It is distinctly against the club spirit to fail to do so.

At Club Times

If people are waiting then at the end of the set you must reform your doubles group so that those waiting are included in the next set. This is extremely important as these times are how some new members find their way into play at the club. This is especially key as we have so many new members annually – in the region of 100. Club times currently are 10:00-12:00 on Saturdays and Sundays and also Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 12:30-14:30.

Junior Matches

There are junior matches at both 12:00 and 4pm both this coming Saturday and Sunday. Courts for general play might be limited for a short while given the early sunset time. This confluence of junior matches is unusual. The club has no say in scheduling them.

2022 Wimbledon Ballot

Those of us who are LTA Advantage members will have received an email regarding opting in to the 2022 Wimbledon Ticket Ballot. As with last year, I expect this to be done online as opposed to manual ballots which we used to organise at the club. For those of you who have joined the club in the last year and have yet to join the LTA Advantage scheme, you need to go to the LTA site and register yourself (and other family members who are also club members). In the process you need to affiliate your membership with Brondesbury, which is in the LTA's Middlesex region. I expect the ballot to take place in the Spring.

Winter Junior Matches

The winter junior matches start this weekend with a girls match vs Cumberland on Sunday, starting at midday. These matches will reduce the number of courts available for general play so if you wish to avoid these times please check the club website calendar. Adult evening matches are also in the calendar.
